Hi dears,

Happy Aries full moon—we made it through eclipse season! This full moon is (finally) not an eclipse and is happening tomorrow morning on Thursday, October 17th at 5:26am MDT.

However, this lunation is still happening on the Aries-Libra axis, so we’re going to feel some similar themes come up—namely, our relationship to ourselves (“me”) and our collective people (“we”). I tend to think of Aquarius as the sign of broader collectivities and macro-level relating, whereas Libra to me is more about our interpersonal relationships. When I think of Aries, I think of ferocity, independence, energy, action, and anger. It’s a fire sign after all, and alongside Libra, it has a lot to teach us about fighting the good fight.

With the ongoing genocide happening in Gaza and Lebanon and parts of Appalachia and Florida still reeling from Hurricanes Helene and Milton, I’m thinking a lot about the false binary of individualism and collectivism. I’m thinking about how we discover, honor, and shape our personhood in relationship with others. I’m thinking about how hyper-independence and enmeshed codependency can both be harmful, and I’m thinking about how to find more balance along that spectrum. I’m thinking about what we owe each other. As usual, I’ve included some journal prompts below—take what you want, leave what you don’t.
